Rijuta Ghate

Rijuta Ghate earned her B.F.A. (Applied Arts) degree from Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art in Mumbai. For a period, she worked in the field of animation. For the past 22 to 25 years, she has been working as a freelance illustrator for children’s books.

She has designed covers and created illustrations for 25 children’s books for several renowned Marathi publishing houses. Additionally, her stories, poems, and illustrations for children have been published in *Sakal*. Furthermore, Rujuta has worked as an illustrator for various social organizations, including Pratham – Read India, Pratham – Mumbai Education Initiative, and UNICEF. In this capacity, she has created covers and interior illustrations for approximately 30 books.

The cat is Rujuta’s favorite animal, and she particularly enjoys drawing pictures of cats. Her other hobbies include bird-watching, photography, and practicing origami.
