Madhuri Bhide

Born on 7 June 1938, Madhuri Bhide is a well-known writer, specailly in Chidren's Literature. She completed Bachelors in Arts from Pune University. After that she did Masters in Social Work from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. She worked as Psycological Social Worker for Chidren's Aid Society and in an initiative - Sawera by the Maharashtra State Women's council. Working with chidren and writing for them has always been her passion. She started her career as a writer from 1977. She penned short-stories, novels, chidren's literature etc. She aslo translated Greek Tragedies in Marathi. She won Mahatma Gandhi Award for Creative literature in Social Work, State awards and many more.
