Aanand Chabukswar

Aanand has engaged with theatre from the age of 8. Since then, he has been active in theatre as a writer, director, and actor. His productions based on Marathi poetry have had a special appeal.

Aanand specialised in Economics, International Trade and has a post-graduate degree in English Literature. He also trained intensively in Dramatherapy in the UK, and subsequently worked with the pioneer of Dramatherapy as co-director of projects in Romania.

Aanand spent 18 years along with a group of senior practitioners under the aegis of WCCL Foundation, Pune, contributing to the development of ABT (arts based therapy) model in India. He has practiced, taught, and supervised several ABT projects and trainings. His research and writings have been published internationally, with Routledge in UK/USA and in International Journals.

Aanand has lead several drama education workshops all across India for various age groups, especially for children and young people. He has also developed the syllabus for and teaches the Applied Theatre module at the Centre for Performing Arts, Savitribai Phule Pune University.
